How do I increase my child’s compliance at home?
A common problem among children with Autism is failing to listen and comply with instructions given by their parents or caregivers at home. This is known as non-compliance. Non-compliance is when an individual does not or refuses to follow directions or guidance from someone else. Non-compliance can be passive, for example, not following instructions, or active, for example, whining and crying or becoming aggressive or self-injurious.
It may be helpful to know that non-compliance can be deliberate, but at times, may also result from a lack of knowledge or motivation.
In this talk, we will share tips on how to increase compliance at home.
